Learning drums will help you build a great sense of rhythm and feel, and because it is such a physical instrument you’ll get a workout in the process!

Jake Dominey is a professional drummer and passionate educator. After his first drum lesson at the Merrick McCallum Drum School at age 15 he was hooked. Through his schooling years he performed in many local bands, including the Clarence Valley Orchestra. Jake has studied a Bachelor of Contemporary Music (Performance and Education) at Southern Cross University under the renowned drummer and educator David Sanders. Here Jake honed his sense of timing, feel and groove. Jake has also recently acquired his Master of Teaching (Secondary) with the University of New England. Jake shares his love of music with both domestic and international audiences, widely touring Australia and Asia as a freelance musician. Jake has written, recorded and performed with a variety of musicians, including Clocks and Dice, A Little Province, Tullara Connors, Yuma X, Toni Childs as well as many various bands across the Northern Rivers. Jake is a passionate and committed teacher with an array of experience teaching individuals and groups, workshops and masterclass drum education across Australia.
